Empire Palace began as a dream. In the 1990s, founders Xiu Zhen Ma and Yikeng Zheng moved to America with only their determination. They had no money, education, or English skills, but they worked hard. Late nights were spent perfecting recipes and crafting dishes that would delight the palate. Their relentless spirit and dedication brought them to Pittsburgh’s vibrant Hopewell Township, where they opened the doors to Empire Palace, transforming their culinary vision into a delectable reality.

As the years rolled by, the business blossomed alongside the community. Families who enjoyed their first takeout as new parents returned with children of their own, intertwining their stories with the restaurant’s legacy. Each meal reflects a commitment to quality and the warmth of shared experiences. The couple’s culinary art showcases the rich tapestry of flavors that China has to offer, from sumptuous dumplings to fragrant kung pao chicken.
